When is the last time you were told a story?

Old stories are not only fun to listen to, they can also help us reflect deeply on treasures and obstacles in our own minds and lives.

Storytelling evenings - join Lee & Karin from your own home

(Suitable for 16+. Please note story recordings will be shared for the whole family to enjoy)

19.30 - 21.00 (GMT) on Tuesdays

via the freely downloadable Zoom app.

Please email us to receive a secure link to join.

Access

Donations are invited if you are able to. Suggested donation £5 - £10 or whatever you can afford. If possible, please make a note on your donation that it is for storytelling. Click here to see how you can donate (this will take you to Karin's website).

Technology - how to join in the session

We will connect online via the Zoom app which is free to download here (you only need the free version).

Once you have downloaded Zoom onto your device (phone, tablet, laptop or computer) click on the secure link and password sent out by email and you will go through to the virual storytelling space (this will be live and open from 19.15). Please ensure your speakers are on, your phone is not on silent, the volume on your device is up, or you plug your headphones in.

What will these evening sessions be like?

Please join us from your sofa, fireside, in your bed, in your pyjamas, however you like! Please do be aware that if your web camera is on, we can see you! Bring a cuppa, your knitting, your whittling or a night cap for 1.5 hours of being present with the story of the week. It could be an unusual fairy tale, a story from anywhere in the world, or something familiar (which you may not have heard since you were a child).

Stories can help us to visit a different time and a different place, whilst exploring the meaning of the story for the present time and place.

The sessions are aimed at adults. We will record the story element, which we will share as a wider resource you can use during your time of isolation. Perhaps tell it to your children and friends, or share the recording. To receive recordings, please ensure you are on our mailing list (subscribe via the contact page).
